Syria – the A or B story?

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-12-04 by Brian Leslie2015-12-04

Syria – the A or B story? The battle for your mind is waged over many issues but nowhere is the contrast between reality (A) and fiction (B), more stark than in the stories for war/regime change.   [I recommend this post to all who voted for war on Syria!   — BL] We have seen it time and time again throughout modern history: from US interference in Latin America beginning in the late 19th century, through Britain’s justification for war on Germany twice in the 20th century, to the wars of the 21st century. We saw it in Afghanistan (9/11), Iraq (WMD) and Libya (R2P). Ukraine may yet escape a full on civil war but the vicious conflict in the east of the country began with the US backed coup d’état on the pretext of false flag sniper killings in the Maidan. Syria, the current work-in-progress, is not dissimilar; … Continue reading →

Don’t frighten the horses!

Critical Thinking is a collaborative, educational project relying on contributions from diverse sources. The attacks in Paris a week ago have all the hallmarks of another false flag attack and yet, to point out inconvenient facts which contradict the “official story” is to be a “conspiracy theorist”. Critical Thinking, which seeks to debunk myths and share information and analysis which more closely “fits” events, occasionally comes under criticism from natural allies and sympathisers who are working for a better world – by revealing inconvenient facts, they … Continue reading →

Palestine Burns While Parisians Mourn

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-11-15 by Brian Leslie2015-11-15

Palestine Burns While Parisians Mourn Israel is Guilty of Premeditated State-sponsored Terrorism Stephen Lendman, Global Research, November 15, 2015 http://www.globalresearch.ca/palestine-burns…   Israel murders, brutalizes, mass imprisons and tortures Palestinians daily – ignored by Western and Israeli media, blaming victims for state-sponsored high crimes.  Parisians justifiably mourn their dead. Worldwide sympathy supports their family members and an aggrieved nation. Palestinians suffer isolated on their own. The world community ignores their horrific ordeal. Jewish rights alone matter. Since October 1, Israel killed 86 Palestinians, the vast majority extrajudicially executed in cold blood. Clear evidence exposed the myth of knife-wielding terrorists. Over 8,000 Palestinians were injured, scores arrested daily, children treated as brutally as adults, women the same as men. Israel is guilty of premeditated state-sponsored terrorism. Soldiers and police use live fire against defenseless people, wanting long denied freedom, resisting largely with their bare hands against one of the world’s most ruthless regimes, … Continue reading →

Unemployment, Collapsing Infrastructure

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-11-10 by Brian Leslie2015-11-10

Unemployment, Collapsing Infrastructure An Incompetent Social-political-economic System: America is “On the Road to the Third World” By Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Global Research, October 30, 2015 http://www.globalresearch.ca/unemployment-collapsing…   On January 6, 2004, Senator Charles Schumer and I challenged the erroneous idea that jobs offshoring was free trade in a New York Times op-ed.  Our article so astounded economists that within a few days Schumer and I were summoned to a Brookings Institution conference in Washington, DC, to explain our heresy. In the nationally televised conference, I declared that the consequence of jobs offshoring would be that the US would be a Third World country in 20 years.  That was 11 years ago, and the US is on course to descend to Third World status before the remaining nine years of my prediction have expired. The evidence is everywhere.  In September the US Bureau of the Census released its report on US household … Continue reading →

Removing the veils

Critical Thinking is a collaborative, educational project relying on contributions from diverse sources. Russia, the Kurds and the Syrian Army are driving back Islamic State (IS) and cutting its supply lines. Russian intervention exposed US/NATO/Israel’s claim of fighting ISIS as a lie, while the real “strategy” becomes ever more obvious. The capture of NATO arms shipments to the region, the shiny new Toyotas provided by the US State department and UK special forces dressed up as ISIS fighters betrays that lie. IS (ISIL, ISIS etc.) is their … Continue reading →

Libya: From Africa’s Wealthiest Democracy under Gaddafi

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-29 by Brian Leslie2015-10-29

Libya: From Africa’s Wealthiest Democracy under Gaddafi to US-NATO Sponsored Terrorist Haven Garikai Chengu, Global Research, October 19, 2015   October 20, marks the four-year anniversary of the US-backed assassination of Libya’s former leader, Muammar Gaddafi, and the decline into chaos of one of Africa’s greatest nations. In 1967 Colonel Gaddafi inherited one of the poorest nations in Africa; by the time he was assassinated, he had transformed Libya into Africa’s richest nation. Prior to the US-led bombing campaign in 2011, Libya had the highest Human Development Index, the lowest infant mortality and the highest life expectancy in all of Africa. Today, Libya is a failed state. Western military intervention has caused all of the worst-scenarios: Western embassies have all left, the South of the country has become a haven for ISIS terrorists, and the Northern coast a center of migrant trafficking. Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia have all closed their … Continue reading →

The time for Critical Thinking is now!

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-28 by Brian Leslie2015-10-28

The time for Critical Thinking is now! http://freecriticalthinking.org/daily-pickings/1246-… Published on Sunday, 25 January 2015 11:24   All of us alive today are both blighted and blessed. Never before, in human history, have we faced such threats (WWIII, global economic, environmental and societal collapse etc.) but never before have we had access to almost limitless information and analysis (both good and bad) and the ability to communicate as a global family of human beings. We aren’t “consumers”, defined by ideology, race, ethnicity or culture but genetically related human beings and we are presented with a unique opportunity to transform humanity and the planet. We have the accumulated wisdom and history of multiple civilisations from which to understand: Who rules? How did they get their power and how is it used? How do we distribute power for the benefit of all human beings and the planet? Who rules? – The Structural Elite … Continue reading →

Does the Greek Bailout Pave the Way for the United States Of Europe?

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-28 by Brian Leslie2015-10-28

Does the Greek Bailout Pave the Way for the United States Of Europe? By Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, Global Research, August 06, 2015 Mint Press News 5 August 2015 http://www.globalresearch.ca/does-the-greek-bailout-pave-the-way-for-the-united-states-of-europe/5467636   Illusions are at play in the modern tragedy that is the Greek economic system, particularly when it comes to notions of who benefits most from the latest bailout. SAINT-JEROME, Quebec –— Modern Greek tragedy is at play, and so are illusions. The big myth is that Greece overspent and the Greek government was reckless with its budgets, ultimately indebting Athens. It is true that Greek officials tried to gain influence and political support through spending. It’s also true that they signed lucrative contracts with local businesses. Athens, however, is no exception here; this type of conduct has been displayed by politicians throughout the European Union and around the world. The fact is that this is not what created the economic … Continue reading →

Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-28 by Brian Leslie2015-10-28

Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation Review of F. William Engdahl’s book published by Global Research Arun Shrivastava, Global Research, April 09, 2014, 19 June 2008 http://www.globalresearch.ca/seeds-of-destruction-the-hidden-agenda-of-genetic-manipulation-2/9379   Get your copy of this important book on the Global Research online store! Last three or four years have seen a number of books, documentaries and articles on the dangers of Genetically Modified (GM) seeds. Majority has focused on adverse health and environmental impact; almost none on the geo-politics of GM seeds, and particularly seeds as a weapon of mass destruction. Engdahl has addressed this issue but the crop seed is one of the many “Seeds of Destruction” in this book. Engdahl carefully documents how the intellectual foundations of ‘eugenics,’ mass culling of the sick, coloured, and otherwise disposable races, were actually first established, and even legally approved, in the United States. Eugenics research was financially supported by the … Continue reading →

UK Government: 700 Israeli Attacks on Gaza since 2014 Ceasefire

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-27 by Brian Leslie2015-10-27

UK Government: 700 Israeli Attacks on Gaza since 2014 Ceasefire Ben White, Global Research, September 28, 2015; Middle East Monitor 28 September 2015 http://www.globalresearch.ca/uk-government-700-israeli-attacks-on-gaza…   Israel has opened fire on the Gaza Strip on “at least 696 occasions” since the August 2014 ceasefire, the UK government has told Parliament. These incidents are in addition to 29 strikes on Gaza conducted in response to rocket fire. The figures were provided by Tobias Ellwood, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, citing UN agency figures, and in response to a question by Labour MP Alex Cunningham. On September 4, Cunningham asked “how many times the Israeli military have opened fire into Gaza since August 2014; and what steps his Department is taking to prevent future such incidents.” Answering a week later, Ellwood stated: We are aware of Israeli forces responding to illegal rocket fire from Gaza with 29 strikes since … Continue reading →
