European Federal Super State

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2016-06-01 by Brian Leslie2016-06-05

Recommended article in New European, Spring 2016 Why the Greens must resist a European federal super state, by Sir Julian Rose (page 27) -All ‘Greens’ should read this article! Not yet on the New European website, so copied below, with author’s permission The European Union is a centralised super state trading block whose conceptual origins lie in the Third Reich of Hitler’s Nazi Germany. The concept of ‘global trading blocks’ was already well established under Hitler’s regime, but their origins go back further: to the British Royal Society. Post British Empire colonial ambitions were hatched around the desire to form a number of global trading empires whose leadership would be essentially elitist and corporate, with banks mostly at the helm. Here lies the origin of the ‘free trade’ concept. A trading pattern which is anything but ‘free’ due to the fact that it is designed to prevent any one country … Continue reading →

New Model Charter of Critical Thinking

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2016-02-06 by Brian Leslie2016-02-06

Critical Thinking aims – New Model Charter http://freecriticalthinking.org/daily-pickings/886   I recommend support for the ‘New Model Charter’ of Critical Thinking – see here. It was originally published on 21 March 2014, but is still worth considering for support. It rightly criticises usury and debt, though it does not note the origin of most current debts in the take-over of money creation by the private banks.  If all national money were to enter circulation through government creation-and-spending, then little debt, or need for it, would remain. There would be no interest-on-debt due to the method of money creation. This currently ‘justifies’ other usurious charges. As well as interest on money, the Charter covers , as it puts it: “The value of land, resources and other commons (such as water, the radio spectrum, genes, nature and knowledge) cannot be appropriated by individuals, corporations or governments; they are gifts from the universe or are communally created. … Continue reading →

The time for Critical Thinking is now!

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-12-27 by Brian Leslie2015-12-27

The time for Critical Thinking is now! http://freecriticalthinking.org/daily-pickings/1246… http://freecriticalthinking.org/component/mailto/?… Published on Sunday, 25 January 2015 11:24 [As the title says, ‘The time for Critical Thinking is now!’. Re-published on Saturday, 26 December 2015. This seems to me to cover most of the important issues for a sustainable, just future. – BL] All of us alive today are both blighted and blessed. Never before, in human history, have we faced such threats (WWIII, global economic, environmental and societal collapse etc.) but never before have we had access to almost limitless information and analysis (both good and bad) and the ability to communicate as a global family of human beings. We aren’t “consumers”, defined by ideology, race, ethnicity or culture but genetically related human beings and we are presented with a unique opportunity to transform humanity and the planet. We have the accumulated wisdom and history of multiple civilisations from which to … Continue reading →

Don’t frighten the horses!

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-11-22 by Brian Leslie2015-11-22

Don’t frighten the horses!   Daily Pickings is a blog on issues and events related to the work of the Critical Thinking project and invariably references videos, articles, books and academic papers. Accumulation of these materials adds to the “Critical Thinking reference library”. We welcome comments and interaction on Daily Pickings via Comments for which you need to be logged in as a User. Critical Thinking is a collaborative, educational project relying on contributions from diverse sources. The attacks in Paris a week ago have all the hallmarks of another false flag attack and yet, to point out inconvenient facts which contradict the “official story” is to be a “conspiracy theorist”. Critical Thinking, which seeks to debunk myths and share information and analysis which more closely “fits” events, occasionally comes under criticism from natural allies and sympathisers who are working for a better world – by revealing inconvenient facts, they … Continue reading →

Barcelona Threatens To Print Parallel Currency

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-11-02 by Brian Leslie2015-11-02

Barcelona Threatens To Print Parallel Currency Madrid Seethes Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/26/2015 10:26 -0400   Socialist mayor to fulfill campaign promises by “printing” money. Over the next six months, Barcelona’s left-wing city council plans to roll out a cash-less local currency that has the potential to become the largest of its kind in the world. The main goal of the project, according to a council spokesperson, is to boost economic opportunities for local businesses and traders. The idea is for local stores and residents to be able to exchange euros for the new currency at a one-to-one parity, and use it to purchase products and services at a discount or with other kinds of incentives. But it doesn’t end there: the new parallel currency may also be used to pay certain subsidies, taxes and local services such as public transport, reports El País. Municipal workers could also receive part of … Continue reading →

Barcelona follows Wörgl

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-29 by Brian Leslie2015-10-29

Barcelona follows Wörgl     Daily Pickings has often referred to the dark art of money and how banks are the biggest obstacle to change; the global banking network is a primary lever of power through which the Structural Elite exert control. Alternative currencies such as Bitcoin and the Bristol Pound are threats to the banking dynasties’ power but are relatively small. The Euro is a stepping stone to a single world currency and its dissolution would be a setback on the road to one world government which is why the Bank of Madrid (controlled by the Structural Elite via the Bank of International Settlements) is so angry at Barcelona’s mayor introducing a local currency. Barcelona Threatens To Print Parallel Currency, Madrid Seethes by Tyler Durden Socialist mayor to fulfill campaign promises by “printing” money. Does the Greek Bailout Pave the Way for the United States Of Europe?

Sustainable Economics Posted on 2015-10-28 by Brian Leslie2015-10-28

Does the Greek Bailout Pave the Way for the United States Of Europe? By Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, Global Research, August 06, 2015 Mint Press News 5 August 2015 http://www.globalresearch.ca/does-the-greek-bailout-pave-the-way-for-the-united-states-of-europe/5467636   Illusions are at play in the modern tragedy that is the Greek economic system, particularly when it comes to notions of who benefits most from the latest bailout. SAINT-JEROME, Quebec –— Modern Greek tragedy is at play, and so are illusions. The big myth is that Greece overspent and the Greek government was reckless with its budgets, ultimately indebting Athens. It is true that Greek officials tried to gain influence and political support through spending. It’s also true that they signed lucrative contracts with local businesses. Athens, however, is no exception here; this type of conduct has been displayed by politicians throughout the European Union and around the world. The fact is that this is not what created the economic … Continue reading →
